Following is some important information for stallholders regarding Avalon Market Day 2018:

Bad Weather Policy

Avalon Market Day will trade in all weather conditions. Please do not apply for a stall unless you are prepared to take the risk on weather. No credits or refunds are issued in the case of bad weather over the weekend.


All day parking is available at several locations close to the market. Maps will be provided with application confirmations and again closer to the event.

Please do not park across private driveways, double park in traffic lanes, queue across traffic intersections, or otherwise hinder traffic in the streets surrounding the Market during set up or pack up.

Payment of Stall Fees

Payments cannot be made until all application have been approved. Payments will be made electronically - either by credit card or bank transfer.

If you are successful you will receive further details on how to make a payment and secure your spot. Please do not make a payment via an electronic funds transfer as we no longer process payments this way.

Bookings are NOT finalised until your payment is made.


There is no access to power. Stallholders who plan to use their own generators must advise our office when making an application.

Public Liability Insurance

You MUST have your own cover if you sell certain items:

Please note it is a strict requirement that Stallholders must have in place a public and product liability policy with a minimum of $10 Million cover in the Stallholder's Name if the Stallholder offers for sale any of these products:

  • Second hand Electrical Goods and Toys
  • Cosmetics and Beauty Products
  • Medicines
  • Potions, Oils, Fragrances and Soaps
  • Massage Services
  • Food Products (Hot or Cold)

If you DO NOT have your own cover:

An additional $30 will be charged on your stall fee. You will be covered by the Market Insurance Policy. The Market Public Liability Insurance Policy provides $20,000,000.00 cover with a $5,000.00 excess.


Stall Fees are NOT refundable.

Rubbish & Waste

All rubbish, waste and packaging must be taken away with the stallholder. Bins provided do NOT cater for stallholder rubbish. The stall site must be left in the condition it was found.

Rules of the Market

All Stallholders are granted consent to trade at the market on the condition that they agree to the terms and conditions outlined in this document and the Market Regulations [insert link].

All stallholders must not cause damage, make alterations or additions of any nature to, or carry out any damaging works of any nature to Dunbar Park. If any damage is caused, the costs of any repairs, making good or replacement will be borne by the stallholder. 

Stall details and requirements

Stall sizes are limited to no more than 3m x 3m space. You must set up within completely within your stall boundaries and may trade from the front of your stall only.

No equipment is supplied with the stall.  You must bring all your own equipment to the event including tent, tables, chairs etc. All stallholders are restricted to their designated space and must contain all stock within its space. Products are not to be placed in aisles or on the ground in front of the stalls. No A-frames are to be used outside of the stall space. All tents, umbrellas and shade structures must be secured with adequate weighted sandbags. No pegging is allowed. 

Special Requests

Stallholders with special requests for additional space or access may incur an additional charge depending on the request

Stall Location

Stall locations will be determined the week prior to Avalon Beach Market Day. All stallholders will be advised of their location by email / post.

Please note that the layout for market day is reviewed on an annual basis, therefore stallholders may not be placed in the same location as the year prior.

Stalls will be allocated with consideration to the appropriate spread of products and stall space requirements.


Portable toilets will be provided to both stallholders and the public. Locations will be provided in the Stallholder Information Kit prior to market day.

Stallholders will be supplied a “Stallholder Information Kit” prior to market day advising the following:

  • How to get to Avalon Market Day;
  • Arrival and departure times;
  • Entry and exit points / gates;
  • Location of stand;
  • Maps; and
  • Frequently asked questions.
